McLean served as a lawyer in the FBI for 24 years, from 1992 til 2016. From 2000 til 2003 McLean served in the FBI field office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY), along with [[Andrew McCabe]]. Blasey Ford and Andrew McCabe, who is facing [[criminal]] investigation, share the same attorney, Michael Bromwich. Monica McLean was in attendance to hear Blasey Ford's public testimony.
When the FBI investigation began, it was Monica McLean who tried to get Blasey Ford's friend Leland Keyser, who allegedly was at the drinking party in the 1980s, to change her story.
