La-la land is an expression for the liberal culture of the Los Angeles area,[1] and how detached it is from reality and moral values.

Merriam-Webster's definition and etymology for "la-la land" omit any reference to Los Angeles, despite the term's obvious and historic connection to that liberal area.

Conservative investigative journalist Andrew Breitbart was born and raised in L.A. He spoke at RightOnline saying, “I admit it, I’m from L.A. I still am shallow. Don’t anyone think otherwise. It’s part of the experience out there.” [2]
