A millisecond is one thousandth of a second. This unit can express the distance traveled by an object moving extremely fast during a short time, or the amount of work done by a very large force applied across an extremely short distance, or the number of wavelengths of a photon of light traversed by a low energy state moving to a higher one for a unit distance under constant atmospheric pressure.
