Phil Scott is the governor of Vermont, serving since 2017.
While belonging to the Republican Party, Scott takes many left-wing positions. For example, he allowed a bill completely legalizing abortion without any limits or restrictions to become law,[1] signing it into law rather than passively allowing its enactment.[2] Scott also signed a restrictive gun control law, which was unpopular with residents of Vermont.
