Polytheism

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Lodovico (Talk | contribs) at 20:32, September 8, 2008. It may differ significantly from current revision.

Polytheism is the belief in multiple gods. This is in contrast to monotheism, the belief in one deity. Most ancient religions were polytheistic and in modern times Hinduism is the largest and best known polytheistic religion, being one of the few polytheistic religion from that ancient time period that did not die out. The trend over time has been towards monotheism. Judaism - and thus Christianity - has roots within polytheism. [1]
