Rohan is a large grassy land ruled by Theoden in The Lord of the Rings. Pippin and Merry are taken through it by the orcs (in The Two Towers), but they escape when the Riders of Rohan attack the orcs, and the find refuge in the neighboring forest of Fangorn.
