Rowan Douglas Williams is the Archbishop of Canterbury He was born in Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom into a Welsh speaking family on June 14, 1950. He studied Theology at Christ's College, Cambridge University.

Williams was elected Archbishop of Wales in December of 1999 and enthroned at St. Woolos Cathedral in Febuary of 2000. On July 23, 2002, Dr. Williams was elected the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury. He was enthroned in the Canterbury Cathedral in February 2003.
