Changes

As reported by the ''[[Washington Post]]'', on Monday January 4, 2021 [[Capitol Police]] Chief Steven Sund was growing increasingly worried about the size of the pro-Trump crowds expected to stream into [[Washington, D.C.]] to attend the rallyand march. Sund asked House and Senate security officials for permission to request that the D.C. [[National Guard]] be placed on standby for quick backup. Mayor [[Muriel Bowser]] and Speaker of the House [[Nancy Pelosi]] both turned down a standby deployment of thousands of [[National Guard]] troops in support of the Capitol Police for the January 6, 2021 rally and march. The Director of the [[F.B.I.]] [[Christopher Wray]] reportedly refused to communicate with the Trump Administration, in the leadup to the scheduled rally and march, to warn them that provocateurs were planning to invoke chaos, that they thought there might be some kind of situation brewing, or that "there could be a situation."
