Seán O'Casey (born John Reginald Casey, March 30, 1880 – September 18, 1964) was a major Irish dramatist, satirist and memoirist. He was a committed republican and included many satires of the left-wing communists who he felt were ruining the best chance for Ireland to become a free, federalist nation.
