Sidney Crosby was drafted by the [[Pittsburgh Penguins]] in July of 2005. During his rookie season, he scored 102 points, coming in second place for the Calder Cup Memorial Trophy (NHL equivalent of Rookie of the Year) to [[Alexander Ovechkin]].
In the 2007-2008 season, Crosby (as captain) led his team to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Penguins lost the series 4-2. He and [[Evgeni Malkin]], a fellow teammate, are currently the most potent scorers in the [[NHL]].
