Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones is a 2002 Lucasfilm movie. The story deals with the start of the Clone Wars, as well as the conflict between Anakin Skywalker's place as a Jedi, and his new-found love for Padme Amidala.

Box office performance
It held the top box office position for two weeks, and grossed $302,181,125 in the U.S. alone.[1] Critically, it received mixed reviews, much like Episode I. However, the reviews for Episode II were more positive. Two of the biggest criticisms of the film were Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker and the love story between Anakin and Padme. Critics said Christensen came off as too whiny and the love story being very wooden.

- Many actors in their late teens to early twenties auditioned for the role of Anakin Skywalker, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Philippe, and Jonathan Jackson.
- It was one of the first films to use digital cameras.
- Reportedly, boy band N*SYNC had a cameo appearance in the Geonosis arena battle, but it was cut from the film.
- This was the first of the films to use a CGI Yoda.
- George Lucas designed the costume that Padme wears during the fireplace scene when she is talking to Anakin.
