Bradbury's win in the 1000m short track event came under the most unlikely (and bizzarebizarre) circumstances.
* Bradbury performed well to win his first heat, but the quarter final draw saw him pitted against the firm favourite and the defending world champion, with only the top two to advance.
* Bradbury finished third in his quarter final race, but disqualification of the defending champion saw him promoted to second place and a spot in the semi final.
