Superficial

Can be used for people and objects. A superficial man has only skimmed the surface of knowledge and has not learned anything thoroughly. A superficial work has the same fault as a superficial man. The more superficial men there are in a country, the more profound men there will be as well, everything else being equal, for there is only one way to stand out above others, that is, by being more learned.
