I'm not sure criminal rehabilitation is a liberal/conservative issue. Perhaps the mechanism used is, but the concept of rehabilitation through Christ is certainly conservative thought as are creating and supporting various religious based programs within criminal institutions. Remember the origin of the word "penitentiary"

...where penitent criminals were held, to do penance for their crimes, centuries ago. Rehabilitation of criminals is not a new - or liberal - concept. PaulBurnett 22:16, 12 March 2010 (EST)

Both "penance" and "penetentiary" come from the Latin poena, meaning "punishment". I'm sure you can think of other English words with that root. Now, how many of those words have anything to do with the sacrament of penance? Next, you'll be claiming that a hockey player is in the absolution box, or that a football player was flagged for 10 yards of rehabilitation! You're not fooling anyone with your revisionist liberal deceit. Try Wikipedia. DanielPulido 01:36, 13 March 2010 (EST)
