Interestingly, there is a real disease called Christian Demyer Franken syndrome.--JohnD 11:42, 4 January 2009 (EST)

I was under the impression that any American citizen who was old enough was qualified for public office, provided he got enough votes.--Frey 14:19, 4 January 2009 (EST)

I looked and I couldn't find any reference to this term anywhere (some references were made to Al Franken syndrome, but they all were one-offs that referred to other characteristics). It doesn't appear to be very notable. --KevinS 14:28, 4 January 2009 (EST)

What on earth is this article - either we are trying to make an encyclopedia here, or we are just taking a series of cheap shots by making stuff up --J00ni 15:15, 4 January 2009 (EST)

Why not Schwarzenegger syndrome or Reagan syndrome? Both jumped abruptly from entertainment to politics. Taollan 17:00, 5 January 2009 (EST)

Taollan, the difference is obvious. Unlike liberals, Schwarzenegger and Reagan had a long standing interest in politics, and served the people of California and the United States. Franken (like other liberals) has no idea what he is doing. I suggest you open your mind and embrace conservative principals. It will greatly improve your mental health.--Saxplayer 13:37, 7 January 2009 (EST)

Saxplayer, Franken's work has had a political slant for more than 30 years, so saying he hasn't had a "long standing interest in politics" is simply inaccurate. Neither Scharzenegger nor Reagan held public office before being elected to Governor of California (a bit larger role than senator. And no, president of an entertainers' guild doesn't count). I would think truth and honesty is a conservative principal, is it not? Finally, Franken seems to know enough about politics to campaign to a virtual tie with Coleman. All of this is getting away from what I was trying to saw, however. This entry is non-encyclopedic cow manure. Taollan 17:10, 7 January 2009 (EST)
