Although it was a good faith edit, I had to undo your edit. The key terms are drug abuse and licit. Ordinary use of legal, prescribed drugs does not qualify as drug abuse, which is what your edit would have implied. DanH 02:30, 18 March 2008 (EDT)

Clean up

I think this page needs a complete re-write, based around the Controlled Substances Act of 1970. That particular international law, which was authored largely by the US, breaks down precisely how dangerous illegal and prescription drugs are in a logical manner. Specific illegal drugs, and their specific effects and harms, can then be summarized and linked to their main pages in order of prevalence in the US. --Pious (talk) 21:39, 8 September 2016 (EDT)

Not Legal

Cocaine and Methaquaalone are both listed here under legal drugs, but both are Schedule 1 compounds!

Cocaine is in Schedule II because it has a medicinal use as a local, topical anesthetic during surgeries wherein the patient cannot be rendered unconscious.
