Talk:Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Return to "Massachusetts Institute of Technology" page.

University "See Also" Sections

What's the significance of the three universities listed in "See Also" (University of Iowa, University of Louisville, Ave Maria University)? They don't have anything obviously in common (to me, at least). The "See Also" at Harvard is puzzling too. I'd support getting rid of these sections, since the complete list of university articles appears right below it anyway. --MarkGall 10:07, 19 September 2009 (EDT)

I don't know whether it makes sense to have such a paragraph, but since the website is or was aimed at high school students, a certain amount of college guidance doesn't seem inappropriate. I don't understand the inclusion of Purdue, however, a good school but not known for having a technology or engineering focus. I changed the list to remove Purdue, to add RPI, and to list schools with full name first and nickname in parentheses rather than the other way around. I don't know whether this site wants to highlight New Jersey; if so, Stevens Institute of Technology should be in there, too. Dpbsmith 18:52, 24 September 2009 (EDT)
The choice of MIT's "two most well-known professors" seems a little idiosyncratic to me. Dpbsmith 18:54, 24 September 2009 (EDT)
