Made some changes here to soften the definitive nature of this entry as Celente has not been acknowledged as a particularly credible source by most mainstream economists but seems more at home with people like Alex Jones and other conspiracy theorists who, regardless of who is in power at any given moment, think that the government is "out to get them." As for the softening of Obama's "socialist" policies, while it can easily be argued that some of the policies he has put in place are socialist in nature, this is a view that is not shared by all and to suggest that all conservatives share this view is disingenous at best and an outright falsehood at worst.

Karajou -- before you revert my edits, read the above please.

"Some conservatives believe..." smacks of opinion only, when Obama's policies, actions, and own beliefs ARE socialism. As a result, and since you have no source backing your edit, they are removed. Karajou 13:47, 14 July 2010 (EDT)
There are no sources backing anything on the page. HaywoodJ 13:54, 14 July 2010 (EDT)
And that is something I don't like, either. The article should be restricted to the meaning of the word itself and where it came from, rather than added opinion. I found some references that do just that. Karajou 14:01, 14 July 2010 (EDT)
Karajou -- please, define socialism. The last time I checked it referred to government control of the means of production that falls short of the ultimate goal of communism where the goal is the collective ownership of the means of production. I put it to you that you are misusing the word socialism here.
You just defined it. Now see the news about GM, Freddie Mae, Fannie Mac, the oil drilling industry, the current bills to control the internet, etc. Karajou 14:16, 14 July 2010 (EDT)
  • In reading the above, it all seems like gibberish, as someone is not signing their posts. It is not my job to go to the pages history to see who is saying what, and typically I will delete such unsigned posts and block the user. Maybe this post will serve as a hint.
