The Texas primary 2024 features a battle between conservative Ken Paxton and RINO Greg Abbott, each of whom has endorsed a mostly-rival slate of candidates. Liberal donors like TLR support Abbott's candidates, while conservative donors back Paxton's candidates.

Paxton has endorsed close to 50 GOP hopefuls for these seats, and Abbott has thrown his support to 78 candidates.[1]

They endorsed only 14 candidates in common.

Results

Paxton's endorsed candidates did well: seven challengers won outright, while seven others forced runoffs that they will likely win.[2] Paxton's endorsement forced the entrenched RINO Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan into a runoff despite his war chest of many millions of dollars.
