Thaddeus "Thad" McCotter (born August 22, 1965) is a Republican lawmaker serving Michigan's 11th district in the U.S. House of Representatives. Previously, he was elected to the Michigan State Senate in 1998. McCotter is Chairman of the Republican House Policy Committee and is involved with the Committee on Financial Services. He is conservative in fiscal and social policy. McCotter married in 1992, Thad and Rita have three children.
