(bad grammar?)
Line 7: Line 7:

I'm not too hot on grammar and couldn't help noticing you mentioned the sentence ''Me and Corey are going to the park''. Could you be kind enough to tell me what's bad grammar about it and how it should be expressed correctly? <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td rowspan="2" style="background:blue; height:10px; width:40px; font-size:10px; color:white; font-weight:bold; text-align:center">Wigo?</td><td style="background:red; height:10px; width:60px;"></td></tr><tr><td style="background:white; height:10px"></td></tr><tr><td colspan="2" style="background:red; height:10px; width:100px;"></td></tr></table><div style="padding:0px; border:0px; margin:0px; height:10px; background:white; font-size:10px; color:blue; valign:top; width:100px; text-align:right; vertical-align:top;">[[User:WhatIsG0ing0n|What is going on?]]</div> 17:37, 26 May 2007 (EDT)

InGodWeTrust, thank you for both comments- I'll keep that in mind. I like to think I'm precocious. My teachers would say otherwise when it comes to homework!

WhatIsGOingOn, the sentence is wrong on two levels:
 +
Firstly, if you are mentioning yourself and someone else in a sentence, you place the other person (in this case, Corey) in front of yourself.
 +
Also, if you removed the Corey, you'd find that the sentence would read: "Me am going to the park," which sounds Tarzan-esque. The 'me' should be replaced with an 'I'. So, the correct version would be "Corey and I are going to the park."
 +
Of course, you could get away in public saying "Me and Corey" without getting stared at, but you might come across a grammar freak like me, so it's best you stay prepared!

Welcome to Conservapedia. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or any of the other sysops. DanH 16:26, 26 May 2007 (EDT)

Thank you! Currently, I don't have any questions- nice to meet you! --Psalm23 17:20, 26 May 2007 (EDT)

You seem very precocious for a twelve-year old. But at the same time very sensible. InGodWeTrust 17:27, 26 May 2007 (EDT)

PS I would avoid giving out too much personal information (such as name etc.) on the internet or even here on CP as it could lead to unwarranted advances. Happy editing. InGodWeTrust 17:30, 26 May 2007 (EDT)
