The Việt Minh (from Việt Nam Ðộc Lập Ðồng Minh Hội, "League for the Independence of Vietnam") were Comintern-affiliated forces in Vietnam, fighting against both French colonial occupation and occupation by the Japanese during the Second World War. Their leader was Ho Chi Minh, who went on to lead North Vietnam and the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War until his death.
