Homework Assignment 2


1. I think the main secret to Alexander the Great’s enormous success was due to his love for war, his teachings from Aristotle, and his strategic mind.

2. Every region in Greece was separated from its neighbors by water or mountains. This caused the Greeks create city-states.

3. The big advance in language was the invention of vowels. People could then express themselves in written words more clearly.

4. A significant advancement in Greece was the invention of democracy. This somehow trickled down to the United States, which became the greatest democracy.

5. Aesop’s Fables were stories that taught people good morals. They were easy to understand and they pointed out the evil in life. Most of them pointed out sly actions in life.

6. Plato impressed me the most. He thought things could be learned just through logic. His thinking said that someone could train them self to do something without actually doing it.

7. The Assyrians were very brutal. They would torture the people that they captured in battle. Their history was short lived. They were the ones who conquered Israel.(Babylon conquered Judea)
