2021 Niger coup attempt

The 2021 Niger coup attempt occurred on 31 March 2021 at around 3:00 am local time (2:00 am UTC) after gunfire erupted in the streets of Niamey, Niger, two days before the inauguration of president-elect Mohamed Bazoum. The coup was foiled and the perpetrators arrested.[1]
