Albaphobia, also known as Scotophobia and anti-Scottish sentiment, refers to the hatred or dislike of, or discrimination against, Scots, Scotland, or Scottish culture, such as the languages Scots and Scottish Gaelic. More broadly, it can refer to the targeting of the wider Scottish diaspora, such as the Ulster Scots; a good example of which is the frequent attempts by far-left Irish 'nationalists', who attempt to deny the existence of Ulster Scots culture and humiliate speakers of the Ulster dialect of the Scots language.[1]
Humza Yousaf, former Islamic ruler of Scotland (2023-2024), was known for his contempt of white, indigenous Scottish people.
