Angus Stanley King Jr., an Independent, is the junior United States Senator for Maine. Beforehand, he was the governor of Maine from 1995 to 2003. He was the second independent to serve in that position.[1]
2012 Senate election
On November 6, 2012, King was elected to replace retiring Senator Olympia Snowe in the United States Senate.[2]
