Anne of Green Gables

Anne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery. Set on Prince Edward Island, Canada, it is the tale of Anne Shirley, an orphan girl sent in error for adoption to an elderly brother and sister, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who had wanted a boy to help on their farm, Green Gables. Anne's life on PEI, as she grew to adulthood, is chronicled in a number of sequels written between 1909 and 1939.

Following the books, this story was adapted into a number of television offerings, including movies in 1934,[1] 1985,[2] and 2016.[3] A short television series was released in 1972,[4] and sequel movies released in 2000[5] and 2008.[6]
