Audience

An audience is the group of spectators at a public event; listeners or viewers collectively, as in attendance at a theater or concert. It can also mean the viewers of a film on DVD, or the readers of a book. ("Stephen King writes for a large audience of mystery fans.")
An audience refers also to an official meeting with someone in high office; as in "He had an audience with the Pope".
