BND

The BND (Bundesnachrichtendienst) is the German Federal Intelligence Service tasked with foreign intelligence. It originated in 1946 as the Gehlen Organization under control of the United States and CIA, and was incorporated into the Federal Republic of Germany in 1956 after the West German Republic regained limited sovereignty in 1949.[1]
