Blue Labour
Blue Labour is a political campaign group in the United Kingdom and a faction of the Labour Party, established in 2009. The group aims to promote socially conservative values - particularly in relation to the family and the nation[1] - while advocating left-wing economics. It was launched as a counter to New Labour, which reconciled left-right politics by advocating some of the capitalist elements of the Tory Party in synthesis with left-wing social policies.
History
Blue Labour was established in April 2009, being launched by Maurice Glassman at a meeting in Bloomsbury, Greater London. The group was launched in response to New Labour.[2]
