Bob Packwood is a former Republican U.S. Senator from Oregon, who was publicly disgraced for allegedly committing a variety of crimes, most dealing with sexual harassment. Shortly after the Senate Ethics Committee voted to favor expulsion, Packwood resigned thus sparing himself the embarrassment of forcible removal. Packwood continued to be active in politics even after his official departure, lobbying for, among other things, the repeal of the Estate Tax. Mr. Packwood has recently occupied a teaching position at a college in Portland in his native Oregon.
