Brian Schatz (born 1972) was chosen by Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie to replace the late Daniel Inouye as United States Senator representing Hawaii. He will serve until the congressional election of 2014.
Prior to this appointment, Schatz was Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii, elected in 2010.
