Bulbasaur (フシギダネ, Fushigidane) is a fictional dinosaur from the Pokémon series of games. It has been around since Generation I. Bulbasaur is a small, green dinosaur with a bulb on its back. It is listed as the first Pokémon in the National Pokédex order. It is the Grass-type Starter Pokémon of Pokémon Red and Blue Versions and its remakes, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Versions. Bulbasaur evolves into Ivysaur at level 16 then into Venusaur at level 32.
Bulbasaur's name is derived from the words "bulb" (owing to the bulb on its back) and "dinosaur".
