Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) is a local authority that covers part of southern and eastern England. It is named after Cambridgeshire and indeed CCC covers almost all of that traditional county's geographical area. However, CCC also covers the vast majority of Huntingdonshire as well as Winwick in Northamptonshire and Great Chishill in Essex, which is the highest point in CCC's largely low-lying council area at 479 ft (146 m) above sea level.

Cambridgeshire County Council is a two-tier local authority, meaning that "wide-area" local government responsibilities, such as education, policing, fire and rescue and highway maintenance are the provided by the council itself, whereas housing, refuse collection and leisure services are provided by the councils of the various non-metropolitan districts into which CCC's area is divided. The district councils are Cambridge City Council which is centred on the city of Cambridge, East Cambridgeshire District Council in the east, Huntingdonshire District Council in the west (covering a similar area to the county after which it is named) and South Cambridgeshire District Council in the south.
