Cannabis and Mastercard is the issue of Mastercard banning use of its debit card beginning in late July 2023 in cannabis transactions.[1]
Mastercard alerted financial institutions to stop accepting and processing these cannabis-related transactions. It was reported that two banks, one in Florida and another in Michigan, process the vast majority of credit card transactions for cannabis.
