What's the difference between brass and woodwind?

• You do a bronx cheer into the mouthpiece of brass
• With a recorder, you simply blow into the fipple
• The modern flute requires you to blow across the mouth hole (transverse)
• Reed instruments like sax and clarinet: the reed vibrates in the mouthpiece, in contact with the player's lips
