Chaminda Vaas
Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Usantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas (WPUJC Vaas). He is a left handed pace bowler and left handed batsman, and specializes in taking quick wickets at the start of matches, to win crucial matches for international side Sri Lanka.
Bowling
Vaas has taken 320 Test and 387 ODI wickets for Sri Lanka during his 13-year career. In the 2003 Cricket World Cup he took a hat-trick (wickets with his first three balls) against Bangladesh. He is a mainstay in the Sri Lankan bowling lineup and is useful with the bat with a top score of 100* (the asterisk in cricket scoring denotes not out). Having scored an maiden test century against Bangladesh in June 2007.
County Cricket
In 2007 Vaas played for Middlesex County Cricket Club alongside Murali Kartik. This signing significantly bolstered the Middlesex side who challenged for promotion from the Second Division.
