Chicago Board Options Exchange
From Conservapedia
The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), founded in 1973 in Chicago, is one of the largest exchange holdings companies in the world. It is privately owned and provides trading markets for equities in the U.S. and Europe. It also establishes markets for exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and global foreign exchange (FX) products.
In 1975, the CBOE introduced computerized price reporting for the first time. In 1977, the CBOE created "put" options, and purchased the Midwest Stock Exchange's options operations.
