The Chicago Climate Exchange, or CCX, was set up in 2000 using $1.1 million in grants from the liberal Joyce Foundation in order to trade carbon credits as part of the expected government controls in connection with the theory of man-made global warming.
The CCX stopped trading carbon credits in 2010.
