Chordophone

A chordophone can be described as any instrument, the sound of which is produced by the vibration of a stretched string.

The following instruments are all chordophones: banjo, cello, clavichord, double bass, fiddle, guitar, harp, harpsichord, lute, mandolin, piano, ukelele, viol, viola, violin.
