The Christian left is a political ideology that is adhered to by theological liberals and Christian socialists. The Christian left often supports socially liberal policies, such as abortion and same-sex "marriage".

Christian leftists may use certain passages from the Bible to support their beliefs. These include passages from the New Testament that encourage generosity and fair treatment of the poor, which are spun to justify taxation, income redistribution and welfare.
