Christianity in Ireland goes back millenia to Saint Patrick and Pope Saint Celestine. Christianity has been the largest religion in Ireland's history since the time it was introduced by glorious Saint Patrick, who is credited with being the Apostle of the Emerald Isle.

The single largest Church in Ireland today is the Catholic Church, which accounts for over 40% of the population. [1]
