Chuck Grassley, born September 17, 1933 (age 85), is a United States Senator from Iowa, and the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee that holdings hearings on nominations by the President to the federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

He is a member of the Republican Party and throughout the current Congress has voted with a majority of his Republican colleagues eight-three percent of the time.[1] He was elected as a Representative in 1974 January 3, 1981 when he was elected United States Senator.[2] He is the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee and is influential in health care negotiations. Grassley received his graduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Senator Grassley is also a fervent tweeter, chronicling his daily deeds and consistent deer slayings.
