I think we need a policy on uploading, specifically guidelines or rules on who can upload what.

This morning I had to delete 2 photos which I would rather not describe - if you must look, perhaps sysops can dredge them up from the deletion log. Trust me, you won't regret not doing so.

A new user uploaded them, apparently with the idea of hurting the project.

Proposed solution:

• Do not allow newly-registered users to upload any images.
• Wait until we see their track record.

Wikipedia uses a simple formula based on length of membership (and number of edits?) for its "semi-protection" policy. You have to be there 4 days before editing a semi-protected page, and I think new users cannot create new pages at all. --Ed Poor 08:03, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

Proposal to delete

I don't think we need this page any more.

• The first part says that people can upload. They can't, except for those who have edit rights.
• The second part mentions a technical problem. Is this still valid?
• The third part is a rather pointless explanation of how to delete an offensive picture without looking at it (you must have looked at it to determine that it was offensive; if you do find an offensive picture, you're not likely to come here looking to find out how to avoid looking at while you delete it; and only sysops can delete it anyway).
