Cut the cord

Cut the cord is a phrase that describes cancelling cable TV subscriptions while finding alternative sources of media to replace viewing habits. Consumers are offered hundreds of cable TV channels for which most people only watch a dozen or so channels. People fed-up with the price hikes and or their content choices have found alternatives like Netflix and Hulu or Internet programming available from YouTube or Kodi.

The price of cable TV doubles every decade. According to the FCC, prices grew at an average annual rate of 5.9 percent during a 19-year period.[1] Almost triple the rise of inflation over that same period. The cable companies are multibillion-dollar conglomerates and refuse to offer consumers a-La-Carte service, it's bundle or nothing. Cord cutters say enough, they are not paying for channels they don't watch.
