DMOZ, created in 1998, is open content directory of World Wide Web links. The site and community who maintain it are known as the Open Directory Project. DMOZ is owned by AOL but like many Wikis it is maintained by an online community of volunteer editors. The former name was directory.mozilla.org, its original domain name, hence its name D.M.O.Z.
