Daniel Clay is the author of Broken, a novel exploring "what can happen when vulnerable people fall through the cracks" of the social services system. It has some parallels to Harper Lee's classic To Kill a Mockingbird. The heroine of the book is Skunk (compare "Scout") who lives near a mental case (compare "Boo Radley").[1]
