Danny Aiello (June 20, 1933 - December 12, 2019) was a famous American actor who is best known for starring in many films including The Godfather Part II (1974), Moonstruck (1987), Jacob's Ladder (1990) and Do the Right Thing (1989) which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Early life

Before acting, Danny did a variety of jobs including serving in the Army at 16, served as President of the New York Transit Union and worked various odd jobs before making his acting debut in the 1973 film Bang the Drum Slowly.

Political views

At one time Danny supported the Democratic Party and Bill Clinton. However, as years came and went, Aiello decided to stop supporting Bill Clinton and other Democrats following the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Aiello stated, "I turned in my card to become a Republican because I did not want to be known as a Democrat under that person's regime. I'm a traditionalist. I have certain values that I live by, and he (referring to Bill Clinton) practices none of those things."

Quotes

"My entire family were Democrats all our lives. But because how furious I was about the previous administration, I turned in my card to become a Republican. I did not want to be known as a Democrat under that person's [referring to Bill Clinton] regime."
