Deltek is an American software company which sells and supports enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
The company operates in a unique niche of the ERP software industry: its software is designed for companies which need to account for costs by project (or sub-portions thereof), and specifically for government contractors which have stringent accounting rules with which they must comply, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulations and agency supplements and the Cost Accounting Standards. As such, the company is located in Herndon, Virginia, part of the Washington DC metro area, where many government contractors have their headquarters or major centers of operation.
Its flagship product is CostPoint; it has one version for large government contractors and another for small businesses. Another major product (acquired when the firm purchased a competitor) is ProPricer, used to prepare proposals for government contracts.
