# Differential calculus

From Conservapedia

**Differential calculus** -- a term first coined in 1702—is a subset of calculus that focuses on analysis of the rate of change of a function with respect to one or more variables. This field is called "differential" calculus because the primary tool is the derivative for determining this rate of change.

Differential calculus was devised by Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz.^{[1]}
